History

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1960, is a non-profit network organisation explicitly dedicated to its Members. Our mission is to inspire, promote, and extend the commercial and industrial relations between individuals and companies in Sweden and the Netherlands. The Chamber’s main role is to provide a forum for Members to exchange business ideas, experiences and to explore new business opportunties.

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce 50 years

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce Anniversary Gala Ball in Noordwijk the 28th of October 2010 were attended by over 500 guests celebrating the 50th anniversary.

The evening started with a welcoming reception, followed by the dinner in Hotel van Oranjes grand ballroom “the Wintergarden”. Guest speaker during the gala was Mr. Mikael Treschow, Chairman Ericsson and Unilever.  In between the different delicious dishes served, moderator Charlotte Kalin, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, invited Mr. Ingvar Kamprad on stage to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, handed over by Crown Princess Victoria herself.  After the prize ceremony the Swedish mezzo soprano Malena Ernman added extra glamour to the evening with her amazing performance, accompanied by pianist Roland Pöntinen.

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands would like to say thanks for all the congratulations on our 50th Anniversary and also specifically thank  all the guests who participated and made this great evening possible.

Sweden - the Netherlands 400 years

In 2014, Sweden and the Netherlands celebrated 400 years of diplomatic relations and friendship by commemorating the establishment of the first Swedish embassy in the world (The Hague, 5 April 1614). The Swedish Embassy in The Hague and the Netherlands Embassy in Stockholm agreed to celebrate this occasion by highlighting the good bilateral relations between our countries.
