March 4-9, 2019 Swedish Dads Exclusive Photo Exhibition by Johan Bävman
The photo exhibition Swedish Dads has been travelling to more than 50 countries all over the world. Now the exhibition has come to Amsterdam! Swedish Dads is a photo exhibition based on portraits of a select group of fathers who choose to stay home with their babies for at least six months. Photographer Johan Bävman examines why these fathers have chosen to stay home with their children, what the experience has given them, and how their relationship with both their partners and their children has changed as a result. The exhibition aims to show the effects of gender equality in parenting on both individuals and society. The exhibition portrays 25 fathers in Sweden and is showing at Epicenter Amsterdam from March 4 - March 9, 2019, as a joint collaboration between the Swedish Institute, the Swedish Foreign Mission, Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Epicenter Amsterdam. Who will be Sweden’s new best EU friend after Brexit?
Sweden and the UK have traditionally agreed on many European issues. But when Sweden's best friend leaves the EU, the country needs to seek new partners. Sweden's new EU Minister Hans Dahlgren, of the ruling centre-left Social Democrat party, on Tuesday, met Michael Stibbe, the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte's closest EU adviser. The meeting in The Hague was Dahlgren's first bilateral foreign trip of this kind. "The UK has in the past been the country with whom we have had the closest contact, in the sense that it is the country that has voted most like Sweden in the EU. We now have to look for allies in several other countries and the Netherlands is among the top of the list ," Dahlgren told Swedish newswire TT. Click here for more information.
