"My name is Anne Tusveld, founder of Nordic Connect PR, a boutique agency specializing in PR and travel trade marketing for international tourism destinations in the Benelux market. With more than 30 years of experience in communications, media relations and strategic partnerships, I support destinations in building strong visibility and meaningful connections with media and the travel industry.
Scandinavia has always been close to my heart. I previously worked as Area Manager Benelux for Visit Sweden and also lived in Linköping, which gave me a deep appreciation of Swedish culture and the Nordic way of life.

Sweden continues to rank among the world’s happiest countries
In the latest World Happiness Report 2026, Sweden secures 5th place globally. This position reflects a combination of factors, including quality of life, social support, personal freedom, trust, and robust societal systems.
Nordic countries lead the happiness rankings once again. Finland is still in a group of one at the top, followed by a group of three: Iceland, Denmark, and Costa Rica. Sweden and Norway complete the top six, followed by the Netherlands, Israel, Luxembourg, and Switzerland to round out the top ten. Costa Rica’s rise to 4th marks the highest ever ranking for a Latin American country.

Swedish Chamber Patron Member Polestar published full carbon footprint of Polestar 5, strengthening industry-leading transparency
Polestar reinforces its leadership in climate transparency by publishing full life cycle assessments for every model, including the new Polestar 5. The car’s total cradle-to-gate carbon footprint is 23.8 tCO₂e, highlighting emissions from materials and production.
The company is reducing impact through smarter sourcing, especially low-carbon aluminium, renewable energy in manufacturing, and innovative recycled and bio-based interior materials. According to Fredrika Klarén, Head of Sustainability at Polestar, transparency is key to cutting emissions across the industry.

Trainee visit to the Swedish Embassy in The Hague
Today, our international management trainees had the opportunity to visit the Embassy of Sweden in The Hague!
The visit featured a presentation by First Secretary Björn Jönsson and Promotion Officer Oskar Nielsen, followed by an insightful discussion on the Swedish presence in the Netherlands and the strong collaboration between the Embassy and the Chamber. The visit also enabled a meaningful exchange between our trainees and the Embassy’s interns.

Sweden as an attractive career destination for international top talent
A new Swedish Institute study finds Sweden ranks among the world’s most attractive countries for STEM professionals.
Key strengths include work-life balance, career development, family-friendliness, safety, and access to healthcare. Life sciences, healthcare, and green technology are the sectors most associated with Sweden.
Despite its strong appeal, global awareness of Sweden as a career destination remains limited. Efforts are ongoing to increase visibility through digital campaigns, recruitment events, and collaboration with Swedish embassies and companies.

Welcome New Patron Member: SEB
The Swedish Chamber is honoured to have SEB join our Swedish-Dutch Business Community as our newest Patron Member.
The move is part of SEB’s geographical expansion strategy, which began in 2021, focusing on Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The aim is to deepen relationships with existing clients and attract new ones in the Dutch market.
SEB has already built relationships with several well-known companies in the Netherlands. The bank’s model of long-term client partnerships has proven successful in markets with similar characteristics.
“We are building on the experience we’ve gained in the Netherlands, as well as from our corporate banking operations in Germany and the United Kingdom,” says Andreas Fredriksson, Co-Head of Corporate & Investment Banking. “Our ambition is to grow organically and profitably, using the scalability of our model in a focused and cost-efficient way.”
SEB will focus on companies with firm credit profiles, relevant turnover, and operations in sectors that align with SEB’s sustainability priorities.
“We will take it step by step. Many potential customers already know about SEB and what we stand for in terms of commitment and working long-term,” says Jörgen Sjöström, Head of the Amsterdam office.

Swedish Chamber Patron Member Scania recipient of the Haven Award 2025
Scania Logistics Netherlands has received the Haven Award 2025. The award was presented during the annual Port Dinner, organised by Port of Zwolle in collaboration with Region Zwolle United.
The award is a recognition of the role that Scania Logistics Netherlands plays within the port and the region. From the logistics centers in Zwolle, Hasselt and Hattemerbroek, we take care of the storage, distribution and transport of parts for production and assembly sites worldwide on a daily basis. This makes us an important part of Scania's global supply chain.
