YP Goes to Space – Thank You!
What an inspiring afternoon at ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s largest technical centre and the heart of Europe’s space activities.
On June 2, a group of Young Professionals had the unique opportunity to visit the ESA facility in Noordwijk and gain first-hand insight into the world of space exploration, satellite navigation, innovation, and the growing commercial space sector.
The visit began with an introduction to ESA and its role in Europe’s space ecosystem, followed by presentations on working at ESTEC, satellite navigation, and how ESA supports the commercialisation of space technologies and space start-ups. Participants also enjoyed an exclusive tour of the High Bay, where some of Europe’s most advanced space systems are developed and tested.
A special thank you to Stefan Gustafsson, Sara Gidlund, and Jan Persson from ESA for sharing their expertise, experiences, and passion for space innovation. Their insights provided a fascinating glimpse into the opportunities and challenges of working at the forefront of European space technology.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to ESA ESTEC for welcoming us and making this unique visit possible.
The afternoon concluded with drinks and networking, allowing participants to continue the discussions and connect with fellow Young Professionals in an inspiring setting.
