Cindy Kroon has been appointed new CEO of Vattenfall N.V., Netherlands, from September 8, 2025. Cindy’s former role on the Executive Board, as Chief Commercial Officer, will be merged into the CEO function.
Cindy Kroon:
“The energy transition in the Netherlands is at a challenging stage. On the one hand, the transition is in full swing; we are working hard on increasingly sustainable energy production, and more and more customers are switching to sustainable solutions. At the same time, with progress comes new challenges in terms of affordability, security of supply, and political and societal support. Keeping the energy transition moving forward – and even accelerating it – requires courage and perseverance. That is what I, together with Vattenfall Netherlands, stand for. To represent the talented colleagues at Vattenfall Netherlands as CEO in driving the energy transition further is therefore a great honour.”
Anna Borg, President and CEO of Vattenfall:
“Cindy Kroon is an inspiring leader, and I am delighted that she is taking on this role, in which she will represent and further shape our organisation. The Netherlands is a core market for Vattenfall, and Cindy’s dedication, deep expertise, and commitment to supporting our customers in their sustainability journeys make her an excellent ambassador for Vattenfall in the Netherlands.”
Cindy has been with Vattenfall for 22 years and has been a member of the Executive Board since 2022 as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Together with Alexander van Ofwegen, Chief Financial Officer for Vattenfall in the Netherlands, she now forms the two-member Executive Board of Vattenfall N.V., Netherlands.
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands extends its warmest congratulations to Cindy Kroon, Member of the Board of the Swedish Chamber, on her appointment as CEO of Vattenfall N.V. Netherlands, and wishes her every success in her new role.
