Magdalena Andersson – new PM of Sweden for the second time

The Social Democrats’ party leader Magdalena Andersson has for the second time been elected as Sweden’s Prime Minister. She thus becomes the first party leader in 15 years to be allowed to govern a one-party government with only the Social Democrats.

The next step for Andersson is to announce her cabinet which is planned to take place on Tuesday at 9.30 am. Thereafter, she will, together with her new cabinet, attend a so-called skifteskonselj, which is a change of government cabinet meeting with the King of Sweden at the Royal Palace.

That is when the transition of power formally happen, after which her new government will begin its duties.
