AllChiefs, in partnership with Scania Group, Smart Freight Centre, and innovation company HYVE, has launched a collaborative initiative to accelerate the adoption of electric road freight in the Netherlands and across Europe. The effort aims to break down barriers, identify clear pathways, and provide guidance through a shared roadmap for scaling zero-emission trucking at pace.
Electric trucks are emerging as a defining element of the net-zero transport transition, offering not only environmental benefits but also a potential competitive advantage for European logistics. With the technology now commercially viable, the main challenge is no longer innovation itself, but creating the scale required to make zero-emission trucks both the most sustainable and cost-effective solution.
Achieving this scale depends on activating collaboration across the entire logistics ecosystem—including shippers, carriers, logistics service providers, OEMs, financiers, charging infrastructure providers, governments, and grid operators. The roadmap reflects this holistic approach, incorporating insights from over 100 experts representing more than 50 organisations, all united by a single mission: driving the logistics sector toward net-zero emissions efficiently and effectively.
