COVID-19 impact on the Swe-Cham activities and links to Dutch and Swedish governments information

Back to overview

Words from the Chairman,

Dear Members of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce,

Due to the prevailing situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) The Swedish Chamber of Commerce would like to inform you that we follow the Public Health Authority’s recommendations closely. We acknowledge that this is a stressful and very concerning time for our members and we would like to do our very best to support all our members and your business in the best way we can. We will keep you updated on relevant information via our bi-weekly newsletter Swe-News and through our social media channels and website.

We are, as so many of you, working from home and we are available for questions or information by email and phone during our ordinary opening hours as usual. We have made changes to the March and April calendar of events, including cancellations and postponements. Some events will turn into a virtual setting and go ahead to safeguard the continuation of the programs. We will do our very best to find new dates for cancelled or postponed events and will communicate accordingly.

We are monitoring the situation day by day and implement decisions carefully in order to inform our members regarding upcoming events with the consideration that anything can change in a short time due to the situation.
Our biggest concern is the well-being and health of our members and your businesses. Let’s stay in touch within the Swedish Chamber community and help each other wherever we can. We will soon send your more information via email and social media.

From my business, as you probably have already heard, IKEA decided to temporarily close the IKEA stores in the Netherlands until at least 6 April. The main reason for the decision is the well-being and safety of our co-workers and customers. During this period we will switch our focus from offline to online sales channels and will continue to fulfil e-commerce orders while securing the safety of our co-workers in a controlled environment.

Please see respective government’s advice relating to the virus, in Sweden and the Netherlands.
