THE INCLUSION GAMES – NEW TOOL CREATING INCLUSIVE COMPANY CULTURE BY BUREAU DE WERKVLOER

Back to overview

Swedish Chamber Member Bureau de werkvloer has developed an online platform to help employers learn and experiment with how to create an inclusive culture in their own companies. The program consists of four games that cover different aspects of building and maintaining inclusive cultures.  In only 30 minutes per week participants, as a team or individually, compete to win prizes while they learn.

Diversity and inclusion are becoming ever more pressing issues in the workplace and are not yet easy goals to attain. The focus for many companies begins with hiring initiatives designed to broaden the diversity of their employee base. However, many of these new employees leave the company when they find that the culture remains exclusive.

When a company’s culture is inclusive everyone is able to take part in discussions and decisions regarding their work and the direction they wish to take. There is space for people to be themselves and to use their talents in the workplace. When the culture is such that there is no fear of recrimination and boundaries are respected on all sides, employees are able to discuss problems in the workplace without fear. In an inclusive culture, employee retention is improved, the company becomes more futureproof, and everyone involved is much happier.

Developing an inclusive culture is a worthwhile endeavour for any company.  By encouraging such a culture, a company can attract more employees, get the best out of their employees, make better connections with their clients, struggle less with employee retention, and increase  effectiveness, productivity, and innovation.

How can we help?
