Swe-Cham welcomes new members to the Sustainability Committee

Back to overview

The Sustainability Committee drives the sustainability agenda alongside the Swedish Chamber, aiming to unite experts and business leaders, promote knowledge exchange, and foster new business connections between Sweden and the Netherlands with a focus on ambitious sustainability strategies.

Ashkan Danaei, Chair of the Sustainability Committee and Sales Director at Tetra Pak, welcomes the new members:

“I would like to welcome our two new members to the Sustainability Committee. Matthijs van der Meiden, Managing Director of Nefab, a Swedish company with sustainability at the core of its purpose. In addition, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new young professional, Feng Qiu, Competence Center Manager at SKF, the company that won the Tech for Good Award in 2024. I trust that with the continued support of Anne Korthals Altes and Vattenfall, along with our new members, we will enhance value for our members and Swedish-Dutch companies.

Furthermore, I would like to express my gratitude on behalf of the committee to Jan Terlouw, the previous chairman of the committee and Saab Netherlands. Jan’s vision has been instrumental in shaping our journey forward. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Meet the New Members

Feng Qiu

Competence Center Manager, SKF RecondOil

In the past decade at SKF, I have conducted research on advanced condition monitoring systems, which involve monitoring the health and performance of machinery to predict and prevent failures, and developing its business in segments like Railway. For the past two years, I have been advocating the circular use of (industrial) oil at SKF RecondOil, which aims to reuse and recondition oil to minimize waste. As a young professional member of the Sustainability Committee, I wish to further learn within the network the best practices of executing sustainability strategies from different companies and facilitate the knowledge exchange on green transition among the members of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.

Matthijs van der Meiden

Managing Director, Nefab Packaging Netherlands

I am a sustainability advocate with a background in offering sustainable packaging solutions to a wide range of (international) companies active in the Dutch market. My experience in various projects focused on reducing CO2 impact by offering sustainable packaging and logistics solutions has given me a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this field. I am motivated to join the Sustainability Committee because I am passionate about creating impactful change and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within our community. I believe that by collaborating with like-minded individuals, I can make a difference to create a more sustainable future.

With expertise spanning industrial circularity, advanced condition monitoring, and CO2-reducing packaging solutions, Feng and Matthijs bring valuable perspectives to the committee. Their addition further reinforces the Swedish Chamber’s commitment to knowledge-sharing and driving impactful sustainability initiatives within the Swedish-Dutch business community.
