The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands Sustainability Scholarship – Powered by Saab, is made to support and empower the next generation of sustainability leaders in Sweden and the Netherlands.
This scholarship provides funding for two-year (120 ects) master’s students in Sweden or the Netherlands conducting sustainability-related master’s thesis, offering direct support for activities that contribute to their academic projects. It aims to foster long-term collaboration between Sweden and the Netherlands by strengthening ties among students in both countries, ensuring a future generation of shared innovation and partnership. By leveraging the high rankings of both nations in sustainable practices, the program enhances knowledge exchange in sustainability while building on existing academic relationships between Swedish and Dutch universities. This initiative promotes mutual learning and shared insights, advancing the collective pursuit of sustainable development.
The scholarship amounts to max 4000 euros per year.
The application closes on January 31.
Criteria:
- Student: Open to master’s students (120 ects) enrolled at a university in Sweden or the Netherlands. Between 21 and 36 years old.
- Citizenship: The student must have Swedish or Dutch citizenship.
- Field of Study: The student must have sustainability as a topic in their thesis. The specific research should include possible business applications.
- Thesis relevance: The student must be in the process of planning or writing their thesis and demonstrate how the scholarship will contribute to their research. For example, founding travels related to activities, conferences, company visits or purchasing materials related to the research. The thesis must have relevance to Sweden and the Netherlands.
- Event: During Q3 or Q4 2025, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands will host an event where the scholar will present their finalized work, online or in person.
The application should include:
- CV (in English).
- Letter of Motivation including; a biography, description of your thesis topic and process, description of how the funds will be used in your research and your research connection to Sweden and the Netherlands (in English). Max 2 pages.
