NO TIME TO WASTE!
The UN Sustainable Development Goals
The world has set a very ambitious and necessary agenda for 2030: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All 193 Member States of the United Nations have committed themselves to solving the world’s biggest challenges: ending global poverty, protecting our planet and ensuring a life of dignity for all. Fulfilling these ambitions will take an unprecedented effort by all sectors in society – and business has to play a very important role in the process. Business has to invent, develop and launch countless new ideas and solutions within a very short time. But the SDGs not only identify where we have to be in 2030 to create a sustainable world, they also outline new markets and opportunities for companies all over the world – they change the role of business.
The UN Global Compact is committed to being a leading catalyst for that transformation and in turning the Global Goals into local business. The Swedish Chamber of Commerce, Danish Dutch Business Club, The Finnish Dutch Chamber of Commerce in co-operation with the Embassies of Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway welcomed our members and their guests to #NordicTalks 2017 to focus on how the Nordic countries and their global industries apply the Global Goals in to their Sustainability Development Strategies.
On October 10 we discussed, networked, learned and shared information about how to advance the SDGs through business activities and partnerships.

Fit to lead – Facing the challenges
The theme for this seminar is Fit to lead – Facing the challenges. Leadership can be tough on both body and mind, and to cope in the long run with good health and a high quality of life we might need to make changes in our daily life. In this part of the Business Woman Program, we will discuss tools for healthy leadership and raise questions about energy. What is energy? Where does energy come from and how can we produce and have more energy every day?
About the program
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce exclusive Business Woman Program 2017 presents four seminars for the empowering and support of woman business leaders. The seminars are designed to increase and sharpen your leadership skills and to help yourself to a higher level of efficiency, awareness, and success. Moderator is Malin Hedlund, MH Leadership. We welcome the women from the Swedish Chamber, Young Professionals of the Swedish Chamber and their relations with a focus to expand leadership intelligence and strengthen the inner power. You can follow any number of seminars you prefer. If you attend all four, the Swedish Chamber will offer you the last one for free!

Thank you to everyone that celebrated the greatest annual Swedish Crayfish Party in Amsterdam!
We kicked off the autumn season with our festive Annual Crayfish Party on September 2, together with the Young Professionals, Svenska Klubben and SWEA for an evening of traditional Swedish festivities.
The crayfish season is one of the most popular cultural celebrations in Sweden. On September 2, we are welcoming you to the Rowing Club Amstel at de Hobbemakade in Amsterdam to welcome you back from the summer holiday and to celebrate with us.
We started off with a welcome drink on the beautiful terrace overlooking the Amstel River. A three-course crayfish menu was served that started with a quiche with green salad followed by unlimited crayfish, knäckebröd, and Swedish cheese. For dessert, we had coffee and Swedish Dajm tårta! When the hats and bibs were off, the tables and chairs were swept away the party continued with dancing to the music of DJ Percy.
We would like to especially thank Inter Ikea Systems and Nothern Delight for making this a magical evening!
