SSAB and Parmaco to build in fossil-free steel

Parmaco has partnered with SSAB to build a pioneering structure made entirely of fossil-free steel, an initiative set to begin in early 2025. This innovative project will use SSAB’s HYBRIT technology, eliminating most fossil carbon emissions typically associated with steelmaking. According to Olavi Huhtala, EVP of SSAB Europe, the collaboration aims to demonstrate sustainable construction practices to meet urban development needs while reducing climate impact.

Parmaco, a Finnish leader in flexible spaces for schools and public facilities, will leverage this project as a model for sustainable building worldwide.
