Business Sweden Releases Latest Export Managers’ Index (EMI) for 2025

Business Sweden has published its latest Export Managers’ Index (EMI), showing a slight rebound in the first quarter after two consecutive declines. The EMI rose by 1.1 points to 49.9, reflecting improved sentiment on the current situation, though future expectations remain cautious.

The report highlights a sharp increase in expected demand from Western Europe, offering a positive signal amidst broader uncertainty. Compiled quarterly with data from Statistics Sweden (SCB), the EMI serves as a key indicator of Sweden’s economic outlook, providing valuable insights into global export trends.

The EMI report is released quarterly, with the upcoming publishing dates for 2025 as follows:

  • 6 February: EMI Q1
  • 8 May: EMI Q2
  • 28 August: EMI Q3
  • 6 November: EMI Q4
