First-Ever Amsterdam Alumni Event for the School of Business, Economics and Law

Back to overview

Last week, on May 21, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the first-ever alumni event in Amsterdam for the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, in collaboration with the Patron Member Svalner Atlas.

For over 90 years, the independent alumni association of the School of Business, Economics and Law has connected graduates around the world. In recent years, events have been held in cities such as London, Oslo, Copenhagen, and San Francisco. This year, it was Amsterdam’s turn to open its doors.

The purpose of this event was to strengthen the School’s global community and to inspire interest among potential new students. The Netherlands is an important country for the school, home to many alumni and a key location for student and staff exchange, recruitment, and career opportunities. In recent years, the school has received around 60-70 applications from interested students from the Netherlands.

During the evening, Roelof Gerritsen, partner, deputy CEO and co-founder of Svalner Atlas and Henrik Timén, Managing Director at Svalner Atlas in Gothenburg, talked about the company’s operations. Conny Overland, Assistant Professor at the School of Business, Economics and Law, spoke about how the School prepares students for a competitive job market and supports companies in finding strong candidates.

The event served as a milestone in strengthening the School’s presence in the Netherlands and reaffirmed the value of international alumni engagement.
