Happy Swedish Semmeldag!

Back to overview

Today is Fat Tuesday, or “Fettisdagen” as it is called in Sweden, a popular Swedish tradition that entails eating semlor, a wheat bun filled with cardamom and almond paste and whipped cream. The tradition is rooted in eating pastry as a last celebratory feast before the Christian fasting period. Happy Fat Tuesday! Learn more about the tradition here.
