About Vattenfall

Vattenfall is one of Europe’s largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat, employing around 21,000 people. For over a century, we’ve been powering homes, industries, and modern lifestyles through innovation and collaboration. Our mission is to enable a fossil-free future by providing sustainable energy solutions and working closely with partners to electrify transportation, industries, and heating.

To ensure a reliable and sustainable energy supply, we use a diverse mix of sources:

  • Wind Power: Significant investments in onshore and offshore wind farms make wind energy a key part of our renewable portfolio.
  • Hydropower: A longstanding and dependable renewable energy source remains central to our production.
  • Nuclear Power: Provides stable, low-carbon electricity to support energy security.
  • Solar Power: We are continuously expanding solar capacity to harness the sun’s potential.
  • Heat Business: As one of Europe’s most experienced district heating providers, we serve growing metropolitan areas in north-western Europe and the UK.
