Welcome to Our Diversity and Inclusion Breakfast—Gender Diversity, which will be hosted by Swedish Chamber of Commerce Patron Member Heussen on November 12, 2024.

At this Diversity and Inclusion Breakfast, we will focus on gender diversity. In an era where inclusivity and equity are crucial pillars of our society, this event serves as a platform to celebrate diversity and foster meaningful dialogue. Throughout today’s program, we will explore various facets of gender diversity to deepen our understanding and strengthen our commitment to creating inclusive environments.

Dr. h.c. Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen LLM ACII

Dr. h.c. Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen LLM ACII retired 1st of April 2023 as Chairman of the Executive Board of Aon Holdings B.V. and Aon Group International B.V. (part of Aon Plc; NYSE AON). Marguerite has over 33 years international experience in the financial services and insurance industry. She is Founder and Honorary member of the Dutch Reinsurance Association. Marguerite holds various non-executive and ambassador roles amongst others Member Supervisory Board Siemens Nederland N.V., chairman Supervisory Board Kelp Blue, vice chairman Supervisory Board international law firm NautaDutilh and member Supervisory board Dutch Royal Military Museums. Prior roles include supervisory and advisory boards membership at a.o. Alumni board Harvard Business School (USA), American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands, Gelre Hospitals, Stichting ALS and Madurodam. Marguerite is Ambassador of UWC Maastricht and supports their MENA Women Empowerment initiative. Marguerite is an expert on leadership, diversity, inclusion and equity and a seasoned international speaker on the topic. She is Chair of the Advisory Board of SER Topvrouwen (the Dutch nationwide diversity C-suite female empowerment initiative) and also represented the Kingdom of the Netherlands and its private sector in the G20 women empowerment alliance G20 EMPOWER. She attended G20 Ministerial Conferences on Women Empowerment in Italy, Indonesia and India. She is also Advisory board member of the Swiss Diversity Awards, Zurich, Switzerland. Marguerite was named Woman to Watch by US Magazine Business Insurance in 2010. In 2021 Marguerite was awarded the Ambassador J. William Middendorf II award in Washington USA. In 2021 and 2022 she was chosen as one of the Top 50 Women in Sustainable Finance in the Netherlands. The British Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands (NBCC) awarded her with a Special Oeuvre Lifetime Achievement award in March 2023. She was included in the MT Sprout Inclusive 30 Leaders in April 2023. Rise & Lead bestowed on her the inaugural Changemaker award. Marguerite received a Master degree in Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam and is an alumna of INSEAD and Harvard Business School. In 2022 a honorary doctorate in philosophy was conferred to her by RAI University, India. In 2024 she was conferred the royal decoration ‘Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau’ by HM King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands. She lives in the Hague, The Netherlands and is married to Christiaan Soeteman. They have two children: Alexander and Isabelle.
