The Netherlands is considered one of the most open economies in the world and is at the absolute forefront of technological development and innovation. The Dutch market has always been very important for Swedish companies and continues to be so. The Netherlands is Sweden’s seventh largest export market. The Dutch market is an attractive market for Swedish companies with its logistically strategic location and a high degree of digitalisation, technology, innovation and sustainability. The Netherlands is also an interesting test market for further expansion to countries in Europe, the business climate is similar to that in Sweden. Swedish companies and products have a good reputation in innovation, technology and quality, but also sustainability among consumers. The country is the most densely populated in the EU with 17.53 million inhabitants on an area roughly the same size as Götaland. The infrastructure is often cited as the best in Europe, including Europe’s largest port. The Netherlands, and especially Amsterdam, is very international, and you get along well in English both professionally and privately.
