Back to overview

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands would like to congratulate Karin Ehnbom-Palmquist for being presented with the Extraordinary Member Award 2022 by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK.

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK (SCC) is pleased to announce that Karin Ehnbom-Palmquist has presented the Extraordinary Member Award, on 2 December at The Landmark Hotel in London. Karin receives the prize for her “passionate and long-term support of the international scholarship programmes at Swedish Chambers across the world, and in particular to the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK”.

Karin Ehnbom-Palmquist chairs the Scholarship Fund for Swedish Youth Abroad, which donates scholarships for placements at Swedish Chambers across the world. The fund has supported young students to join the SCC in London for the last five years, enabling both the students and the organisation to grow and develop. For the Chamber, it has provided a necessary conduit for developing the business offering.

The fund, under Karin’s leadership, has initiated partnerships with a large number of Chambers in the world, and now offers scholarships across all continents making Swedish Chambers more competitive in the world.

The Extraordinary Member Award is presented to Karin today at the Swedish Chamber’s Annual Christmas Luncheon – the largest Swedish Christmas luncheon outside of Sweden – at The Landmark Hotel in London, by the SCC Chairman Jan Olsson, CEO Nordics at Deutsche Bank.

The award is presented annually to formally acknowledge and recognise individual support and contribution to the Chamber’s mission and work by members of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK. Karin is the fourth recipient of the award, following Håkan Winberg in 2020, Count Bertil Bernadotte in 2019, and Dr Anders Wall who received the first award in 2018.
