Circular Economy Summit 15 January 2019!
The organization partners of the Nordic Circular Economy Summit 2019 were very happy to welcome an amazing speakers line up with more than 15 key speakers together with almost 300 people in the audience.  The conference was co-hosted by the 4 Nordic Embassies, the 4 Nordic Chambers of Commerce and the EU commission.  A great example of Nordic collaboration to address one of the most important questions of this time: How to move from a linear to a circular economy? A mix of Nordic and Dutch businesses as well as NGO’s and governmental institutions from all over the world gathered together to discuss these topics and gave good examples of what has been done, but also spoke about what still needs to be done for the near future to achieve a circular future.  We hope the Nordic Circular Economy Summit will lead to lots of new connections and collaborations as well as inspire all participants to take further steps and lead the way from linear to circular. #NordicEconomySummit2019 Thanks to everyone who participated and for contributing to making Nordic Circular Economy Summit 2019 to a great success. Last Friday (Dec. 14) the Swedish Chamber Christmas Dinner and Dance took place at NH Collection Barbizon Palace. The evening offered both great company, delicious food and entertainment. The Swedish “Smörgåsbord” was prepared by La Cuisine Scandinave and consisted of a fantastic buffet with original Swedish warm and cold culinary dishes exclusively prepared by our Swedish Chef. The evening also offered a traditional candlelit Lucia procession by Lund's Academic Choir inside the unique St. Olof's Chapel, followed up by dancing to the late hours to the tunes by Anne-Lie Persson and StockholmTivoli. The Swedish Chamber Business Awards 2018 were also given to Sweco and Oatly during the evening's award ceremony. Read more about the award ceremony . The Swedish Chamber extends our warmest thank you to everyone who attended, to La Cuisine Scandinave, Lund's Academic Choir, Anne-Lie Persson and StockholmTivoli as well as all of the sponsors of the exclusive goodie bags and raffle table. The Swedish Chamber Business Awards 2018 Award Ceremony
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce, together with the Embassy of Sweden and Business Sweden, awarded Oatly and Sweco with the Swedish Chamber Business Awards 2018 during the Christmas Dinner and Dance on Friday, December 14. The awards were given as a recognition of Sweco and Oatly's great work during the year and was handed out by the Swedish Chamber Chairman, Mr. Ehsan Turabaz and H.E. the Ambassador of Sweden, Mrs. Annika Markovic. Sweco wins the Swedish Chamber Achievement Award 2018 Sweco is Europe’s leading architecture and engineering consultancy. Their mission is to plan and design the communities and cities of the future. The results of their work are sustainable buildings, efficient infrastructure and access to clean water. This is done by offering services in the fields of consulting engineering, environmental technology, and architecture. Sweco helps their clients and stakeholders every day in achieving their sustainability goals and to show leadership in creating a sustainable environment. Sweco also improves their own performance as an employer and as a member of society. In 2015, Sweco acquired Grontmij, a Dutch consultancy with about 6,000 employees, which made Sweco the leading architecture and engineering consultancy in Europe, with sales of approximately SEK 16.9 billion (EUR 1.8 billion). Sweco has 15,000 employees, of which 6,300 are in Sweden (2018). Operations are conducted in seven business areas: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands, Western Europe, and Central Europe. Sweco carries out projects in 70 countries annually throughout the world. Sweco has adopted an in-depth sustainability policy and signed the Green Deal in 2017, meaning that Sweco has agreed to work long-term on sustainability, and partly because of this, will make an important contribution to the Netherlands’ climate target. Oatly wins the Swedish Chamber Entrepreneurship Award 2018 Oatly’s purpose as a company is to make it easy for people to turn what they eat and drink into personal moments of healthy joy without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process. The company was founded based on Swedish research from Lund University. The company’s patented enzyme technology copies nature’s own process and turns fiber-rich oats into nutritional liquid food that is perfectly designed for humans. Oatly entered the Netherlands in 2016 and has since then achieved a significant market presence and growth of its lineup of original oat drinks. Oatly’s 1-liter products have reached ~13% market share of dairy alternatives in the Netherlands in only three years and the sales forecast is 3.9M liters for 2018.   The jury consisted of: H.E. Ambassador of Sweden, Mrs. Annika Markovic, Mr. Ehsan Turabaz, Swedish Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Tomas Korseman, Business Sweden Benelux, Mr. Wilko Klaassen, General Manager Klarna NeBe, the winner of the Swedish Chamber Export Prize 2017, Mr. Patrick Mesterton, CEO and Co-Founder Epicenter Amsterdam The Swedish Chamber extends our warmest congratulations to the winners!
