The Reuters Digital News Report 2023 reveals that 22% of Swedes and 27% of Dutch sometimes or often avoid the news. As a strategy to tackle news avoidance, the Swedish public broadcaster SVT started the initiative "Fika med SVT", involving conversations over coffee with thousands of Swedes to better understand the audience's needs. The project resulted in a shift to more constructive and solution-oriented news reporting. The goal is to include constructive elements in each national news broadcasting, emphasizing solutions to societal issues. From my perspective as a lawyer, we have to focus on the regulatory aspect of AI as well to make sure AI will have outcome which are ethical from all perspectives, instead of focusing entirely on the commercial aspects. I want to make an even bigger impact on the tech industry in Sweden and the Netherlands by organizing more events, and attracting more interested parties to our Tech Tables series in 2024.” Find more information about the Swedish Chamber Committees , and the program for the Tech Table 2024 event series .
