On Tuesday March 5, 2019 the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Epicenter Amsterdam was very pleased to welcome Katja Berkhout, International Director at StartupDelta – TheNextSeaker – SXSW Pitch advisory board. Katja Berkhout gave a very interesting presentation about Startup Delta and how they are paving the way for startups at StartupDelta – she is responsible for scaling program and on a mission to connect Startup Delta with the world’s leading innovation hubs. She also talked about how women can have a larger role in creating success stories in business and technology, how to inspire female role models and how Startup Delta work with female startups and founders.

Katja is an allround executive with 14+ years of experience in international business advisory and economic development in Northern America and Europe. During 4 years in Boston, one of the worlds leading innovation ecosystems, Katja worked with hundreds of corporates and scale ups. She advised C-level leadership at these companies on EU growth strategy and setting up operational activities in the Netherlands. Back in the Netherlands she joined StartupDelta, in support of special envoy Neelie Kroes and later Prince Constantijn van Oranje. As part of a small team and extensive partnernetwork she successfully helped position the Netherlands as Europe’s West Coast for startups, investors and corporates in Silicon Valley, New York, Boston and other global innovation hubs. Prior to rejoining StartupDelta in 2017, Katja has built a team, program and community at the largest weekly innovation gathering in Rotterdam. She localised the very successful US Venture Café Foundation format. Every Thursday 300+ startups, corporates, business angels, VC's, academia and other innovators gather at Venture Café in the Cambridge Innovation Center for access to new deals, inspiration and serendipitous connections in a high energy networking environment. Katja is an outdoors enthusiast with a passion for the beach, kite surfing, hiking & running, clean tech, healthy living and sustainable growth solutions.
