Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Moving beyond the WHY, this is HOW

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the Swedish Chamber’s insightful Diversity & Inclusion Breakfast, hosted by KPMG Meijburg & Co. at its stunning Amstelveen headquarters.

“What matters needs to be measured,” said keynote speaker Ingrid Tappin, Founder and CEO of Diverse Leaders in Tech, as she explained the importance of collecting data in an organisation to move forward with a diversity and inclusion strategy. Ingrid also led an interactive workshop with table discussions to exchange knowledge on the topics.

Another highlight was hearing from Montae & Partners, where Victor Steenbakker, Senior Consultant Commercial Lead and Anne Smits, Reward Specialist, shared their work about the Gender and Equal Pay Gap. It was also very insightful to hear Marco Frikkee, Partner Sustainability Reporting at KPMG Nederland, give a presentation on sustainability reporting. We also thank Armanda Willems from Lime Technologies for the excellent moderating!

Ingrid Tappin

As the founder and CEO of Diverse Leaders in Tech - the very first community driven DEI Platform in the Netherlands - Ingrid Tappin is on a mission to set the standard for DEI Excellence in European tech. Through DLiT’s data-led approach, peer-to-peer learning solutions and DEI partner network, Tappin’s social impact venture helps companies attract, retain and leverage the innovation power of DEI; powered by tech and at scale. Ingrid is the daughter of a Bajan psychiatrist and Surinamese psychologist, who lived in Seattle until she was five, before her family moved to Rotterdam. From a young age Ingrid learned the importance of being able to step into many worlds and walk in many shoes. For better, and sometimes for worse she became fluent in culture code switching. During her career - in which she ran her own culture design agency, co-founded a SaaS start-up, and worked as a senior manager for Accenture’s Talent & Organization practice - Ingrid discovered the power of DEI as a driver for team performance, business success and positive societal change. As she and her wife are now raising two teenage daughters - of which one has autism/is autistic - she more than ever realizes that the future of technology is in need of more empathy, compassion and inclusion. “I believe that every individual has a part to play in shaping the future. Victor Steenbakker

Victor is a Senior Consultant Commercial Lead at Montae Partners. He is a seasoned Consultant with a strong background in Pensions & Total Rewards. In close collaboration with his clients and colleagues he acts as strategic partner for change with an eye on employer AND employee. Always delivering on the content but with relation as the foundation. He loves to find the right approach for a challenge that thrives employee benefits. Victor is chair of the International Employee Benefits Association NL.

Anne Smits

Anne is the Reward Specialist at Montae Partners. She is driven to support her client in all Reward related questions. She is an enthusiastic, inquisitive young professional. Her work focusses on calculating the value of the employment conditions package, analyzing various schemes and providing insight into employee and company data. Anne loves to get things done so that the right information and solutions reach the client. Anne is also member of the works council at Montae & Partners.

Marco Frikkee

Marco Frikkee (1967) is a partner of KPMG’s sustainability practice. Four years ago, he changed from the external audit practice into Sustainability, in order to further build KPMG’s sustainability advisory and assurance services. At the external audit practice, he was the signing audit partner for in particular banks , asset managers, investment funds and financial conglomerates. He is currently advising clients on the new EU sustainable finance regulations, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy and SFDR. Furthermore, he is involved in sustainability reporting assurance for in particular financial sector clients like ING, LeasePlan, NN, and ASR. Marco supports the financial sector in its progress reporting on the climate commitment, in which the financial sector committed itself to reduce the carbon emissions for its relevant financing in line with the Paris agreement. Marco has a master degree in Business Economics (cum laude) and Accountancy at the University of Amsterdam.

Armanda Willems, Country Manager at Lime Technologies the Netherlands

Armanda Willems work at Lime Technologies as a Country Manager since 2020 and have been working in the IT for over 10 years. Selling CRM is their core business, and it is what made them big in Scandinavia. Since 2020, they have expanded to the Netherlands and since 2021, Germany is also one of the countries that they are active in. Lime Technologies is a Swedish company with their HQ in Lund. After joining them, Armanda got introduced to the Swedish Chamber in the Netherlands and Lime became a member. Her focus is on setting foot to the ground in The Netherlands and to grow as a company, but also as becoming one of the biggest CRM suppliers in The Netherlands. With our Swedish influence and quality, she truly believes this is possible.
