Today is the day we celebrate the Swedish tradition Fettisdagen at the office! Did you have your Semla today as well?
What is a Semla? Let us tell you! Semla is a small, wheat flour bun, flavored with cardamom and filled with almond paste and whipped cream. In Sweden, it has become something of a carb-packed icon. A tradition that is rooted in the celebratory feast before the Christian fasting period. With time, Swedes started to add cream and almond paste to the mix and started eating Semla every Tuesday between Shrove Tuesday and Easter. But today, Semlor usually appears in bakery windows after Christmas.
We would gladly like to urge everyone to try to bake their own semla or as we did, check your area if there is a bakery that sells semlor.

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors launches a Tech Committee
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors launches a Tech Committee headed by Jan Sundelin, CEO TIE Kinetix and Board Member of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
Both the Netherlands and Sweden are working hard to provide an entrepreneurial landscape for start- and scale-up companies in the tech industry. Good ideas need to be developed into products and services and to be promoted and implemented into the market.
To make this possible, these companies need capital via Investors, customers and to meet with large companies and experience managers to be able to meet, scale and grow. With the Tech Committee the Swedish Chamber of Commerce will offer a platform for Tech companies to develop and grow, with the aim to help entrepreneurs to bring their companies to the next level.
